CyberBullying is a Crime.
Computers and the use of the internet have become an integral part of our society. It is used in everyday business practices, education and social communication. The endless resources have allowed us to explore new ideas and information. Unfortunately, as often happens with good comes bad. Over the years we have seen an increase in cyber bullying with 9% of students in grades 4-12 reported being cyber bullied by other students in their school.
What is Cyberbullying?
It is bullying that takes place over digital devices such as cell phones, computers or tablets. Common places are social media, text message, email and instant message.
It is a crime.
Parents make the mistake of thinking this is an issue for only school officials to deal with. However, this is a crime that needs to be reported to both school officials and local authorities. Document everything.
